Balcony Repair & Waterproofing Preparation Emu Plains

BTB Building Solutions completed a structural balcony repair at a residential property in Emu Plains after the homeowner identified water damage and deterioration to the balcony flooring and structure.

Water ingress had caused the balcony sheeting and supporting timber to deteriorate, creating safety concerns and preventing new waterproofing and tiling works from proceeding. Our team removed the existing balcony surface, exposed the structural framing and assessed all affected areas.

Damaged structural timber and substrate materials were replaced and the balcony was fully resheeted to restore structural integrity. The surface was then levelled and prepared to allow a waterproofing contractor to install a compliant waterproofing membrane prior to re-tiling.

This type of repair is common in older balconies where failed waterproofing allows moisture to penetrate beneath tiled surfaces. Proper preparation and structural repair ensures waterproofing systems perform correctly and prevents future leaks into the dwelling below.
